2017 Toyota Yaris Revealed
Toyota have revealed pictures of their new 2017 Yaris which will be making its debut at next months Geneva Motor Show. Improvements include a sportier look, new equipment and new engines but will it be as popular as the Ford Fiesta when it goes on sale later this year?
The new 2017 Yaris is much sportier than it's predecessor thanks to the new front and rear bumpers and new front grille. The headlights have also been redesigned giving it a wider look. Inside, changes include a new 4.2-inch colour display screen which is comes as standard on the mid range trim levels.
Safety equipment plays a big part in the new 2017 model. Basic trim levels will include the Safety Sense package as standard. This includes pre-collision warning system, autonomous emergency braking (AEB), automatic high beam assistance and lane departure warning. Traffic sign recognition will also come as standard on all cars apart from the entry-level trims.
Toyota have simplified their trim level list for the 2017 Yaris. Mid trim models will come with a leather trimmed steering wheel, cloth upholstery and a colour touchscreen infotainment system as standard. If you go for a Mid+ trim model, you will get front fog lights, new 15 inch alloy wheels and extra styling touches as standard. The stylish Bi-tone model comes with two-tone paintwork as well as 16 inch alloys and LED lights. Sitting at the top of the range is the Chic model which will get you extra chrome detailing and part leather interior.
Toyota have announced that a new 1.5-litre four cylinder petrol engine will be available in the new 2017 Yaris line up which will hopefully provide better fuel economy, lower C02 emissions and more power. The CVT gearbox will also be up to 12 per cent more efficient. There will also be a 1.5-litre petrol hybrid version and 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine.
