SEAT updates popular Ibiza and Arona models

So much for Spanish siestas. It looks like SEAT has been working non-stop recently. How else would you explain the updating of not one, but two cars? Simultaneously as well. The Arona crossover SUV and the Ibiza hatchback have both been given a host of tweaks and updates, making either one of them well worth considering for your next lease car.

In no particular order, so we may as well do them alphabetically.

Details of the SEAT Arona update

The new SEAT Arona is designed, developed, and built at SEAT's Barcelona factory , and is now available to order in the UK. You can choose from six distinct trims (SE, SE Technology, FR, FR Sport, Xperience and Xperience Lux), matching the desired trim level to the engine that suits your needs best.

The facelift sees a number of new design features and exterior refinements. Three new alloy wheel designs (two 17-inch and one 18-inch), ECO LED exterior lighting as standard, a stylish, two-tone chrome SEAT logo with the Arona model name in embossed, handwritten lettering, a new grille pattern, bumper, fog light design changes, and a new spoiler and diffuser. There are also three new body colours – Sapphire Blue, Asphalt Blue, and Dark Camouflage – and three roof colour options – Midnight Black, Magnetic Tech, and new Candy White.

The interior has also been updated with the Arona now featuring SEAT's Beats audio system as an option. A 9.2-inch Navigation screen is available on SE Technology trim and above (SE trim comes with an 8.25-inch Touchscreen display), and a high-resolution Digital Cockpit features in the Arona on FR Sport and Xperience Lux trim.

In terms of engines, the new Arona 1.0 TSI EVO can be specified with SE and SE Technology trim or, if you require a bit more than 95bhp, there's a 110bhp 1.0 TSI version available from FR trim upwards. There are also a couple of automatic options in the shape of the 1.0 TSI DSG-auto that can be paired with all trim levels, and a much sportier 1.5 TSI DSG-auto available exclusively with FR and FR Sport trims and offering around 150bhp.

It's much the same story with the updated SEAT Ibiza too. In fact, the story is pretty much identical.

Details of the SEAT Ibiza update

Six highly specified trims: SE, SE Technology, FR, FR Sport, and replacing the Xperience trim in the Arona, the Ibiza has Xcellence and Xcellence Lux. You still get the three new alloy wheel designs (two 17-inch and one 18-inch), as well as the LED exterior lighting as standard, a stylish, two-tone chrome SEAT logo with the Ibiza model name in embossed, handwritten lettering, and two new body colour finishes: Sapphire Blue and Asphalt Blue.

The Ibiza's interior has also been updated, with the same Beats audio system as an option, and a 9.2 inch navigation screen available on SE Technology trim and above, with SE trim making do with an 8.25 inch Touchscreen display. The Ibiza also houses the high-resolution digital cockpit in both FR Sport and Xcellence Lux trim. Both new models also feature newly designed air vents with surround LED lighting, available in a range of colours depending on the trim selected.

For the new Ibiza model, SEAT has also matched power output with trim level. The Ibiza 1.0 TSI is available across all trim levels, whilst the more powerful 1.0 TSI, and 1.0 TSI DSG-auto are reserved for FR trims and above.

So, it doesn't really matter if you're looking for a hatchback or a crossover, SEAT is offering a choice of well equipped, and economical models with some great features, and they're available to lease right now .
