Vauxhall outlines new Combo range
The new Vauxhall Combo - and Combo Electric - van range has been unveiled, with a new look for the compact van line-up, including the use of Vauxhall’s distinctive ‘Vizor’ design feature. The new Combo range includes diesel and electric models, with the latter seeing a significant price cut over the outgoing version.
Vauxhall has cut almost £4,500 off the cost of the Combo Electric, which now comes with a 205 mile driving range, a 17% boost from before, thanks in part to a new heat pump for the air conditioning system. Powered by the same 100 kW electric motor, the new Combo Electric has a 50 kWh battery, and can be recharged on DC points in less than 30 minutes. As before, it shares the same load space as the diesel version - 4.4 cubic metres - and it has a 780kg payload.
All Combo models get a new interior, with the new 10-inch touchscreen system powered by the advanced Qualcomm Snapdragon Cockpit Platform. It’s the first use of this system in a van, and it helps create highly responsive systems, as well as the incorporation of AI into certain functions.
James Taylor, Vauxhall Managing Director, said: “Vauxhall is the UK’s leading electric van brand, and this latest iteration of Combo will build on that success thanks to its increased range, bold design, and upgraded technology and interior, and we are proud that it will be manufactured at our Ellesmere Port facility here in the UK.”
